Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what information BayBoard collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers the website at bayboardapp.com and the application at app.bayboardapp.com (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

When you create an account

Your name, email address, shop name, the type of shop you run, your time zone, and a password. We store passwords only as a one-way hash; we cannot read them.

Information your shop enters

Jobs, customer names and contact details, vehicle or bike details, notes, parts, time logs, photos and signatures, and the staff accounts you create. This is “Your Data”. It belongs to your shop.

From people who contact us

If you fill in our demo-request form we collect your name, email, optional phone and shop details, the page you were on and where you came from, so we can reply and understand which pages are useful.

Technical information

Your IP address and basic request data are used for security (for example limiting repeated sign-in attempts and spam), and standard server logs are kept by our hosting provider.

2. How we use information

  • To provide, secure and support the Service (including sign-in, password resets and email confirmation messages).
  • To respond to questions and demo requests.
  • To prevent abuse and keep the Service reliable.
  • To understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Your Data for advertising.

3. Your shop’s customers

When your shop enters or collects information about its customers, your shop decides what is collected and why, and is responsible for informing those customers and for following the laws that apply to it. BayBoard stores and processes that information on your shop’s behalf, only to provide the Service. Each shop’s data is kept separate from other shops’ data.

4. Cookies

The application uses a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against forgery. It does not track you across other sites. The marketing site does not use advertising cookies.

5. Who we share information with

We use service providers to run BayBoard, such as web hosting and email delivery. They may process information only to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service.

6. How long we keep information

  • Account and shop data is kept while your account is open. Ask us to close your account and we will delete Your Data, except where we must keep something for legal reasons.
  • Demo shops and their sample data are deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
  • Security records such as sign-in attempts are kept for a short period and then removed.

7. Security

We protect the Service with HTTPS, hashed passwords, per-shop data separation, limits on repeated sign-in attempts and role-based access inside each shop. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

8. Your choices and rights

You can view and update your account details in the app under My Account. You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to close your account, by contacting us. Customers of a shop who want to see or correct their own details should contact that shop.

9. Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed at children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. If we make a material change we will post the new version here and update the date above.
